ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE

Artists in Residence at Las Maestras Center become a part of a dynamic ecosystem of art makers, scholars, students, and community members.

Residencies occur both on campus and/or in community settings. When in residence at LMC, artists at all stages of their careers and their students may utilize the resources offered at a Tier One research institution, including the California Ethnic and Multicultural Archive (CEMA) at the UCSB Library. Artists work in all media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, installation, creative writing, performance, dance, music, and interdisciplinary genres. Each residency culminates in a public project or public dialogue.
